Travel - Sabah "Negeri Di Bawah Bayu"
Assalamualaikum w.b.t.
How are you doing everyone? I hope all of you are doing well in the Blessings of Allah.
InsyaAllah for this post, I will be sharing with you guys regarding my recent family trip to Sabah. So, stay tuned because i will bring all of you together with me to fly to Kota Kinabalu, okay? 😄
We took an afternoon flight from KLIA2-Kota Kinabalu. Alhamdulillah there was no delays. So, we arrived in Kota Kinabalu International Airport (KKIA) at 2.30pm.
Then, we checked-in our hotel, perform solat and rest first.
We then took Grab to go the Filipino Market area. For your information, the Grab service in KK is excellent. We mainly used Grab to go from one place to another around Kota Kinabalu.
Since it is our first day there, we asked our Grab driver whether he can drive us around the city area showing the places of interest. Alhamdulillah he agreed, so, he drove to show us around where we can eat and shop around Kota Kinabalu city centre and finally dropped us in front of the Filipino Market.
In previous trip, we took a local travel agent there. So, he brought us to have dinner in a Seafood restaurant in the middle of the city. However, for this trip, as advised by our grab driver, we had our seafood dinner at the food court near the Todak Roundabout by the sea.
The price is very reasonable i could say. For three of us it only cost about RM120 including prawns, squid, fish & LOBSTER! Just wow right? 😍 I think if we had lobster in "Semenanjung", the lobster alone can cost up to RM100. Hahaha...
Hence, we decided that we have to dinner here again tomorrow. 😜
After dinner, we went back to our hotel by taking Grab. I don't know if it is our rezeki or what, alhamdulillah we always get a very good and friendly Grab driver to drive us. And the driver that send us to hotel that night suggested to us that we must go to the Bukit Kokol which is located just outside the city to have a spectacular view of Kota Kinabalu city. Hence, we googled it right away and we found it is a very nice place to go and we will be going there on the next day.
Then, we had our lunch at "Kedai Ikan Bakar" near the Sinsuran area and went back to hotel to perform solah and rest.
In the evening, we went to Tanjung Aru to view the Sunset. Tanjung Aru is located about 10 min journey from city centre.
The sunset here is claimed among the best sunset view in the world. And we can see it is almost correct since there were A LOT of people here on the beach.
You don't believe me, you may look at it yourself 😎
The sky was amazing. With the multiple layers of colours, the wide view of the horizon and the very beautiful sun. Subhanallah.
Marakau Fish Farm – We planned to go to the famous Luanti Village for the fish, however, due to the bad weather, the Fish Farm was closed. So, our guide brought us here. The owner is a Muslim and they really took a very good care of the fish farm. The fish is very big and you will have to hold the pellets in your hand, placed your hand in the water and they will suck it in between your fingers. You can feel their mouth creating vacuum on your hand clearly. The farm also have porcupine, mousedeer and pigeon in the petting zoo area where you can feed the animals.
We then went back to hotel and at night we went to Filipino Market for souvenir shopping and had seafood dinner in the food court near Todak roundabout. This time, we didn’t order the lobster and guess what, with the Fish, Prawns and Squid, it only costs us about RM80 for three. Very cheap right….
Day 4
How are you doing everyone? I hope all of you are doing well in the Blessings of Allah.
InsyaAllah for this post, I will be sharing with you guys regarding my recent family trip to Sabah. So, stay tuned because i will bring all of you together with me to fly to Kota Kinabalu, okay? 😄
Actually this trip is my second trip to Sabah. Previously, i went to Sabah with my parents exclusively for a holiday. For this trip, once again i went with my parents alone (acting as the only child 😋). However, we went to Sabah because my father has some business matter to settle. So, "alang-alang menyeluk pekasam, biar sampai ke pangkal lengan" right? 😎
After coming back from Sabah, I really wished that i could share with you the itinerary for Sabah Trip because i can say that holiday in Sabah is very amaaazinggg. That's why i wrote this entry for you. I have highlighted the interesting places to go. You can just browse through the entry if you want to know.
We spent 4 Days and 3 Nights in Sabah in total. So, i will divide this entry into our 4 days spent there.

We stayed at Kota Kinabalu since my father had meeting there. So, we can't stay in other places like Kundasang since it is located a bit far. Usually, when we planned for holiday trip, my mom usually booked local travel agent to arrange on our itinerary there. However, since we already know a little bit around Kota Kinabalu, we decided to go on out own for this trip.

Day 2
In the morning, we had our breakfast in the hotel.
As planned yesterday, we request a Grabcar to go to the Bukit Kokol. Bukit Kokol is located about 25km journey from city centre. Hence, it is risky that there wont be any Grab to send/fetch us there. Alhamdulillah our request was approved and our rezeki that the driver agreed to stay with us throughout the visit and send us back to city once we finished there.
The journey took us about 40min to reach Bukit Kokol. After passing through the city, we had to "climb" hills to reach the place. There were a few hotels and cafes up there where you can drink coffee while enjoying the view. We didn't know which cafe has good view so we just followed where the driver brought us.
Surprisingly, the view is indeed very amazing. Subhanallah! We can see the whole Kota Kinabalu city from up there. And opposite of it, we even can see the famous Mount Kinabalu!

Here are some of the pictures taken there. Credit goes to our Grab driver whom also had become our photographer 😋
Next, we went for a window shopping at Jamilah Jewellery at Jalan Sinsuran and we said goodbye to our Grab driver and thanked him for giving a very good service. I think he deserved not less than 6-Star for the feedback 😋
Although some might say that Jamilah Jewellery shop a little bit expensive but we can say that here is comfortable and if you want to buy just a few things as souvenir, you wont loss much.
Then, we had our lunch at "Kedai Ikan Bakar" near the Sinsuran area and went back to hotel to perform solah and rest.

After that, we drop-by the Dancing Fountain near the Tanjung Aru. There was not much to see there but i couldn't disagree that it is nice to see.
Day 3
It is finally our day trip to Kundasang & Ranau, we didn't have any car. So, we book a car together with a tour guide/driver to bring us there. We book from Big Momma Car Rental (you may google it) company where we found it from other travel blog. I would really recommend you guys to use their service since it was very good and reasonable.
Since, in the last visit we already brought to visit the Kinabalu Park and Poring Hotspring by the travel guide, we wont be going there again. Hence, we requested our driver to bring us to Nabalu Village, Sabah Tea, Marakau Fish Farm, Desa Dairy Cattle Farm and around Kundasang village.
We depart from our hotel at 7.30am and we arrived back at 6.00pm.

Nabalu Village - Here we were expected to see Mount Kinabalu. However, since the weather is a bit cloudy, we couldn't see the top of the mountain from here. But alhamdulillah, the view is subhanallah very nice.
Sabah Tea Plantation - Here we can enjoy the view of tea plantation and have a tea with scones. However, the service of the cafe is a bit slow here. So, can’t expect much from them.
Marakau Fish Farm – We planned to go to the famous Luanti Village for the fish, however, due to the bad weather, the Fish Farm was closed. So, our guide brought us here. Desa Dairy Cattle Farm – Here is a must-visit place in your itinerary if you are coming to Kundasang. It is also known as “Malaysia’s New Zealand” among tourist. The cattles are very cute. The view here is amazing. You can also enjoy the local product such as yogurt, milk and cheese here.

Day 4
It was our last day there. After we had breakfast in hotel, we went to
airport for our flight home. And before that, we dropped by the Filipino Market
for last-minute shopping.
